Topical authority
An industry term for a site being recognised as a thorough, trustworthy source on a subject, built by covering it in depth.
Topical authority is not a Google metric; it describes the observation that sites covering a subject comprehensively, with well-linked supporting pages, tend to rank across more of that subject's queries than sites with a single page on it.
It is built with depth and internal linking between related pages, not by publishing many thin pages on the same theme — which risks scaled content abuse.
