Terms of Use

Plain terms for a simple site: we aggregate headlines and link out, the copyright stays with whoever wrote them, and the automated ratings on this site are estimates rather than findings. Using the site means accepting what follows.

What this site is

Seowolf's SEO-Serps Info is a news aggregator. It reads the public RSS and Atom feeds of search-industry publishers, Google's own channels and a number of adjacent-discipline blogs, and presents their headlines with a short extract and a link to the original. We summarise and link. We do not republish articles.

Content and copyright

Headlines, extracts and images shown here belong to the publications that produced them, and are displayed as the publisher chose to syndicate them in their own feed. All rights remain with those publishers. If you own content shown here and want it removed, contact us at the address below and we will remove it — no argument, no delay.

The parts of the site that are our own work — the section and source write-ups, the compiled update archive, the classification system and the code behind it — remain ours.

Automated ratings are estimates

This is the clause worth reading properly. Several things on this site are produced by automated heuristics working on headline text, not by human editorial judgement:

  • Impact ratings (High / Medium / Low) estimate how much a story might matter to a single website. They weigh the publisher, whether Google has confirmed a ranking change, how many outlets ran the story and whether the wording implies action. They read headlines, not your analytics. They are triage to help you prioritise reading — nothing more.
  • Topic tags (Crawling & Indexing, Links, and so on) are keyword matches. They are useful for filtering and will sometimes be wrong in both directions.
  • Story clustering groups coverage that appears to describe the same event. It occasionally merges two stories that merely share vocabulary.

Do not treat any of these as a finding about your website. Verify anything that matters against the original article and your own data.

The Google update archive

The update archive is compiled from Google's own Search Status Dashboard, and rollout durations are calculated from the start and end times Google publishes. Two limits apply. First, it only contains what Google has publicly confirmed — Google changes its ranking systems constantly without announcing most of it. Second, Google's API exposes only its most recent incidents, so the archive begins where it does and is not a complete history of every update ever released. The page states this plainly and so do we.

No professional advice

Nothing on this site is professional advice — SEO, marketing, technical, legal, financial or otherwise. It is a reading list with some automation on top. Decisions you take about your own site are yours.

Accuracy and availability

Content is fetched automatically from third-party feeds and cached for a short period. Feeds break, publishers change URLs, servers go down, and a headline may be out of date or missing by the time you read it. The site is provided as-is and as-available, with no warranty that it will be accurate, complete, current or uninterrupted.

Acceptable use

You are welcome to read, link to and share anything here, and to subscribe to our feeds. Please do not attempt to disrupt the service, circumvent its security, or scrape it at a rate that burdens the server — if you want the data, the RSS feeds and the CSV and JSON exports exist precisely so you do not have to.

External links

Outbound links are provided for reference. A link is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for the content, accuracy or practices of any site we link to. Commercial links are covered by our affiliate disclosure.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, this site or anything reached through it — including any decision taken on the basis of an automated rating described above.

Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top reflects the current version, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept it.
