Canonical URL
The URL a search engine treats as the main version of a page that exists at several addresses.
Duplicate URLs — tracking parameters, sorting options, print versions, HTTP and HTTPS — are consolidated onto one canonical. Sites suggest it with rel="canonical", redirects and internal linking; Google treats the suggestion as a strong hint, not a directive, and may choose differently.
