llms.txt
A proposed plain-text file at a site's root that gives AI models a curated, Markdown map of the site's most useful content.
Proposed in 2024, llms.txt is to AI assistants roughly what a sitemap is to crawlers: a short Markdown file listing the pages worth reading, with one-line descriptions. It does not control access — robots.txt does that.
It is a proposal rather than a standard, and which AI systems read it is not well established. It costs little to publish. This site has one at /llms.txt.
